In determining the possibility of a state compromise for child support arrears, the eligibility requirements must be met:
- No prior application for state compromise
- No intentional or willful failure to pay child support
- Non-custodial parent must not have the ability to pay off arrears within three years
- No concealment of any income, assets or property
The elements of the eligibility criteria must be met before your application for state compromise will be considered. Income from welfare, disability and Social Security may also be considered in determining your eligibility for state compromise.
